Wrestling Bridges the Gap invited wrestlers, teams and fans to turn the sport's resilience and camaraderie into direct support for communities recovering from devastating hurricanes.
Hosted by the U.S. Wrestling Foundation, the Hurricane Relief Match was designed as more than a competition. It gave the wrestling community a way to raise recovery funds while demonstrating the values athletes carry beyond the mat.
Why get involved?
Wrestling for a purpose
Every athlete, coach and spectator could help raise funds for communities rebuilding after hurricanes.
Team unity, community impact
The initiative gave teams a shared cause bigger than competition and showed the power of collective action.
A mark beyond the mat
Each match represented hope for families rebuilding their homes, livelihoods and communities.
Calling wrestlers, coaches and fans
The event welcomed the entire wrestling community. Athletes could compete, coaches could organize their teams, families could support the effort and fans could help spread the word.
The message was simple: wrestling is a family that steps forward when others need help.
